Response from Senator re Planned Parenthood

I wanted to share with you a response from Senator John Boozman.  I didn't expect a response, and certainly didn't expect to receive such a strong and definitive response as what you will read below, even from one of our political leaders that claims to be pro-life.  Good to know that some men are still willing to stand firm on truth and values.  Pray that Mr. Boozman will stand firm on his convictions and do the right thing tomorrow, and please pray for the vote tomorrow.

There is a good chance the vote that will come to the floor tomorrow, which is to de-fund Planned Parenthood and further restrict the use of federal money to fund (directly or indirectly) abortions, will not pass but those of us know that God's standards are not called to worry about or place our faith in politics, we are only called to speak the truth and pray.  Those that continue to support the abortion industry will answer to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords one day for their actions.

Also, you may want to take a moment to look at http://liveaction.org for more information about recent developments in the fight against abortion and some shocking facts about Planned Parenthood.  Please use caution as some of the materials may contain graphic and shocking details.  Also, LiveAction does not appear to be a Christian based organization but does have some important information we need to know about this matter.

Grace
to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear Mr. Rudd,

Thank you for contacting me regarding Planned Parenthood and Title X funding. It is good to hear from you.

As you may know, the House of Representatives continuing resolution for the rest of fiscal year 2011 eliminates funding for Title X, a program funded under the Department of Health and Human Services to provide family planning services to low-income families and individuals. The House also approved an amendment by Representative Mike Pence (R-IN) to prohibit funds in the spending bill from being directed to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its affiliates.

While I understand and appreciate the need to provide low-income individuals with access to health services, I simply do not believe the federal government should be using taxpayer dollars to help fund facilities that provide abortions.

As a strong believer in the sanctity of life, I am committed to defending those who cannot defend themselves. Please be assured I share your sentiments and I will continue to oppose any effort to allow federal funding of abortion and support pro-life legislation

Again, thank you for contacting me on this very important issue.  Please be sure to visit our website at www.boozman.senate.gov.  I look forward to your continued correspondence.

Sincerely,
John Boozman
U.S. Senator
